Shadanakar is Daniil Andreev's name for the bramfatura of the Earth: the whole system of layered worlds, higher and lower, that he believed surround and interpenetrate our planet. He mapped it in Rose of the World (Roza Mira), a visionary work he began in Vladimir Prison, where he was held from 1947 to 1957, often writing on scraps of paper that guards confiscated. He finished the book in 1958, shortly before his death, and it circulated in samizdat until its first official publication in 1991.
